Deputy Regent of PALI, South Sumatra, Arrested by Prosecutor's Office!
Information received indicates that the Deputy Regent of PALI, identified by the initials IT, was detained while at his official residence. Simultaneously, the Head of the Public Works Department, identified by the initial A, was detained in Palembang. Following their detention, both individuals were immediately transported to the South Sumatra High Prosecutor’s Office for further interrogation regarding alleged criminal acts of corruption involving project fee bribes. The enforcement actions against both officials were carried out on the same day.
The South Sumatra High Prosecutor’s Office investigation team operated across different locations to secure individuals suspected of having knowledge of or involvement in the case. The Head of the South Sumatra High Prosecutor’s Office, Ketut Sumedana, confirmed the detention of both officials. He stated that both parties were currently in transit to the High Prosecutor’s Office to undergo examination by the investigative team.
“Yes, it is true that there has been the detention of these two individuals. They are currently on their way to the South Sumatra High Prosecutor’s Office for further examination,” said Ketut Sumedana, as reported by detikSumbagsel on Wednesday (3/6/2026).
Ketut explained that the detention was conducted in relation to suspected bribery involving project fees currently being handled by the South Sumatra High Prosecutor’s Office. However, the authorities have not yet detailed which specific project is the subject of the case, as the investigation is still ongoing.
“We are still conducting further investigations. The preliminary suspicion relates to project fee bribery. We will provide further details once the examination is complete,” he stated.
