Deputy Regent HM Nursiah Honoured for Efforts to Reduce Extreme Poverty

Deputy Regent of Central Lombok HM Nursiah has received an award for her contributions to accelerating the reduction of extreme poverty in the region. The accolade was presented at the detikBali-Nusra Awards 2026, held in Badung, Bali, on Friday.

Nursiah, who also serves as Chair of the Regional Poverty Reduction Coordination Team (TKPKD), was recognised for her success in integrating various poverty alleviation programmes. Her approach prioritised targeted, data-driven, and sustainable interventions over temporary aid.

As a result of these efforts, the poverty rate in Central Lombok fell by 1.39 percent throughout 2025, equivalent to approximately 13,000 people. By 2026, the number of residents living in extreme poverty had been reduced to 0.72 percent, or around 8,000 individuals out of a total population of 1.1 million.

Nursiah strengthened cross-agency coordination, pushed for updated poverty data, and expanded programme coverage through the regional budget (APBD), the National Amil Zakat Agency (Baznas), and corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives. Together with Central Lombok Regent H Lalu Pathul Bahri, she continues to drive regional development and poverty reduction, aiming to achieve zero percent extreme poverty by 2029.
