In its post, BKPM expressed condolences over the passing of Andre Omer Siregar, who served as Deputy for Investment Cooperation. “Our deepest condolences on the passing of Mr. Andre Omer Siregar bin Ibnu Ash Djamil Siregar, Deputy for Investment Cooperation at the Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming/BKPM, on Sunday, 5 July 2026,” BKPM wrote on its official Instagram account @bkpm_id, cited on Monday (6/7). According to his LinkedIn profile, Andre Omer Siregar had only served as Deputy for Investment Cooperation since March 2026. In this position, he was tasked with promoting Indonesia’s investment cooperation in various global and multilateral forums, such as the G20, APEC, ASEAN, OECD, and D-8, as well as strengthening bilateral cooperation mechanisms and partnerships with the private sector. Before joining BKPM, Andre was a career diplomat at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemlu). His last position was as a Minister-level Diplomat serving as a senior advisor in the Directorate of South America and the Caribbean, specifically within the Directorate General of America. In terms of education, Andre earned a Ph.D. in International Law and Legal Studies from Charles Darwin University, Australia, in 2019. He also completed a Master’s degree in Diplomacy and Trade at Monash University, Australia, in 2001.
