Deputy National Police Chief Commends West Java Police's Innovations in Lebaran Homecoming Security
Various innovations implemented by West Java Police can serve as an example for other regions in Indonesia in dealing with Operation Ketupat, said the Deputy National Police Chief whilst directly inspecting the Integrated Post at KM 57 on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road in Karawang’s jurisdiction on Saturday.
He stated that the steps taken by West Java Police demonstrated readiness and creativity in providing the best service to the public, ranging from integrated checkpoint preparedness, vehicle flow monitoring systems, to inter-agency coordination that was running smoothly.
It was noted that the strategy employed focused not only on security but also prioritised humanistic service to homebound travellers.
Five innovations were presented by West Java Police to support the 110 service by extensively installing Call Centre 110 banners throughout all Security Posts (Pospam), Service Posts (Posyan), Integrated Posts, as well as at various crowded locations across 23 jurisdictions of West Java Police.
Additionally, West Java Police also introduced the West Java Police Mudik Hotline, which provides various important information for homebound travellers, such as updates on traffic flow for Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah homecoming and return journeys, access to traffic CCTV in Bandung City and toll roads, information on Operation Ketupat Lodaya 2026 post locations, as well as fuel and mobile mechanic workshop information.
West Java Police also provided various homecoming service facilities at security and service posts to assist the public during their journeys.
For citizens leaving their homes during the homecoming period, free vehicle parking services are available at police stations.
On the other hand, all police stations throughout West Java Police’s jurisdiction also established thematic posts that provide specialised services according to community needs in their respective areas, and introduced free homecoming service programmes for the public.
Another innovation was the presence of the West Java Police “Smiling Motorcycles,” which are teams that manage traffic congestion on toll roads, arterial roads, and tourist destination areas.
These teams not only help ease congestion but also provide additional services to the public, such as distributing evening meals during breaking fast times, supplying fuel for vehicles that have run out of petrol, and bringing mechanics if vehicles are damaged on the road.
