Deputy National Police Chief and Police Education Head Inspect Cadet Field Equipment
Deputy National Police Chief (Wakapolri) Commissioner General Dedi Prasetyo and the Head of the Police Education and Training Institute (Kalemdiklat Polri), Commissioner General R.Z. Panca Putra, inspected the personal field equipment (kaporlap) to be used by prospective Police Academy (Akpol) cadets (cabhatar) from the 2026 fiscal year recruitment. This equipment will be taken by the cadets during their basic integration and partnership training with the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) at the Military Academy in Magelang, Central Java.
Based on monitoring on Saturday (25/7/2026), the field equipment was laid out on the Akpol Regiment parade ground. Meanwhile, on the terrace of the regiment building, Akpol officials displayed the items that constitute the contents of the cadets’ field packs.
These items consist of field service uniforms, sports shirts, underwear, shoes, backpacks, water bottles, mess kits, and shoes. In total, there are 79 items in the field equipment pack.
“Where is this made?” asked Commissioner General Dedi while holding a cadet’s field service shoe.
“Bandung, General,” replied Akpol Head of Administration, Commissioner Aldian.
Commissioner General Dedi then checked the sports shoes. He evaluated the material of the shoe soles.
“Running shoes are not like this; this is hard. These are like shoes for going to the mall,” Commissioner General Dedi remarked.
Commissioner General Dedi then inquired about the cadets’ helmets. He noted that the helmets were not as heavy as those from his own time as an Akpol cadet.
“It’s not like when we were cadets, wearing heavy ones. What is the material?” he asked.
“Fibre plastic, General,” Aldian answered.
On the same occasion, Commissioner General Panca asked about the completeness of the mess kits. He reminded the Akpol staff to have spare mess kits for the cadets.
“Is the mess kit a complete set?” asked Commissioner General Panca.
“Yes, General,” replied an Akpol personnel member.
“What if one gets lost?” Commissioner General Panca asked again.
“We will replace it, General,” the member said.
Commissioner General Panca stated that the numerous field activities during the partnership training could leave cadets exhausted and unfocused, potentially leading to lost mess kits. “Don’t be without spares; you must have them. Because they will be doing field activities, things will definitely get lost,” Commissioner General Panca stressed.
The field equipment inspection was conducted during the second day of the appearance check (rikpil) stage for the prospective cadets. After the inspection, Commissioner General Dedi, Commissioner General Panca, and their entourage returned to the Akpol Multipurpose Building to continue the selection process.
