Deputy Minister Urges Kulon Progo MSMEs to Utilise Integrated Service Centre for Growth
Deputy Minister for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Helvi Moraza stated that the Integrated Business Service Centre (PLUT) in Kulon Progo Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta, serves as an integrative platform providing training, entrepreneurial mentorship, business incubation, and business matching for local MSMEs. Speaking during a working visit to the PLUT in Kulon Progo on Friday, Helvi emphasised that the Ministry of MSMEs is focused on resolving two classic challenges faced by business actors: financing and market access. She noted that President Prabowo Subianto has directed that micro-enterprises should access credit with a maximum interest rate of 8 percent. Helvi highlighted the extraordinary potential of MSMEs in Kulon Progo, spanning crafts, fashion, and culinary sectors, and stressed the need to push these businesses to upgrade. She affirmed that as businesses grow, access to capital and broader market opportunities will be expanded accordingly. Helvi also urged local government officials to ensure the sustainability of MSMEs in the region, assuring that the ministry is ready to facilitate any issues related to mentorship or licensing. Welcoming the visit, Kulon Progo Deputy Regent Ambar Purwoko expressed gratitude for the central government’s support and voiced hope that the strengthened synergy would significantly advance the welfare of local MSMEs.
