Jakarta (ANTARA) - Deputy Minister of Communications and Digital Affairs Angga Raka Prabowo has stressed that Pancasila values must remain the primary guiding principle to maintain national unity amid the torrent of information. “Pancasila must remain the primary guiding principle. Its values must be reflected in tangible actions, not merely memorised or recited as a mantra, but lived out in our daily lives,” Angga Raka said in an official statement on Monday. The spread of disinformation, hate speech, intolerance, and technology misuse pose new challenges in the digital age. According to Deputy Minister Angga, the rapid advancement of information technology has created numerous opportunities for national progress. Angga also noted that Pancasila has proven to be a unifying force that maintains Indonesia’s unity amid ethnic, cultural, linguistic, and religious diversity. When the nation faces social conflicts, economic crises, or threats of disintegration, Pancasila’s values have always been the strength preserving Indonesia’s integrity. Therefore, Deputy Minister Angga urged that the digital space should not become an arena that exacerbates differences and divides society. Instead, technology should be harnessed to strengthen unity, expand educational access, and foster creativity and innovation for all citizens. “Use technology as a tool to strengthen unity, improve education quality, nurture creativity, and build a more advanced Indonesia,” he said. Angga added that Pancasila’s Birth Day should be a moment to reaffirm the commitment of all national elements in practicing Pancasila’s values, including in daily digital activities. He urged citizens to respect differing opinions, maintain harmony, use technology responsibly, and contribute to a healthy digital ecosystem. “This moment must serve as a reminder for all of us to continually strengthen our commitment to Pancasila’s values in every aspect of life,” Angga said.
