Deputy Minister of State Secretary (Wamensesneg) Bambang Eko Suhariyanto stated that the execution of the Hotel Sultan land in the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) area, Central Jakarta, is part of President Prabowo Subianto’s orders. “On several occasions, President Prabowo has conveyed that we must reclaim government assets, state assets that have been controlled by other parties. We must then return all these assets to be under our own control, the government and the state,” Bambang said at GBK on Thursday (18/6). Bambang explained that the Hotel Sultan land is a state asset acquired by the government around 1959 for the Asian Games IV. He noted that for 50 years, the asset or land had been used by PT Indobuildco with many irregularities in the process. “So it can be said that Indobuildco has had the privilege for 50 years to control this asset,” he said. “This is a strategic asset, and the President has also conveyed that once it is returned to the state, this asset must be utilised to the greatest extent for the prosperity and welfare of the people. That is all we need to convey,” he continued. The execution process for the Hotel Sultan land, located in Block 15 of the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) area in Central Jakarta, was held on Thursday. A total of 3,161 joint personnel from the National Police, the Indonesian National Armed Forces, and the regional government were deployed to secure the execution process. The legal counsel for the Minister of State Secretary and the GBK Area Management Centre (PPKGBK), Kharis Sucipto, confirmed that there was no delay in the execution process for the Hotel Sultan land. “The execution of the Block 15 eviction, as stipulated by the Central Jakarta District Court, is carried out on Thursday, 18 June 2026, unchanged and without any postponement,” Kharis told reporters on Thursday. Kharis stated that the execution notice from the Central Jakarta District Court had also been delivered to PT Indobuildco as the operator of Hotel Sultan. He revealed that the letter included an appeal for Indobuildco, residents, or anyone who obtained rights from Indobuildco to occupy or inhabit the land and buildings of the Hotel Sultan site to voluntarily vacate the execution object. Kharis stressed that if they refused to leave the location voluntarily, the execution process would still proceed. “Therefore, if Indobuildco or residents or anyone occupying Block 15 is unwilling to leave the execution object voluntarily, the execution will continue and any resulting consequences will not be the responsibility of the Central Jakarta District Court,” he said. “This is the basis for our request that all parties support and respect the execution of the former Hotel Sultan area on Thursday, 18 June 2026,” he added.
