Malang, East Java (ANTARA) – Deputy Minister of Tourism Ni Luh Puspa has reminded all amusement park operators to prioritise the safety of rides and attractions, particularly during the Eid holiday period in 2026.

Speaking in Batu City, East Java on Wednesday evening, Deputy Minister Ni Luh Puspa stated that all amusement park operators must conduct periodic and detailed inspections of ride conditions.

“We visited Jatim Park to verify whether they have conducted thorough inspections of the rides, as this is important,” said Ni Luh Puspa.

The Ministry of Tourism is projecting that during the 2026 Eid holiday, public movement could reach approximately 144 million people.

Given that amusement parks are frequently chosen by families as holiday destinations during the Eid season, alongside natural tourism attractions, ensuring safety is crucial.

“The Ministry of Tourism has issued a Ministerial Circular on Tourism. This applies to all facilities, not just natural attractions but artificial tourism venues,” she said.

Each operator must ensure that visitor numbers do not exceed the amusement park’s total capacity to prevent dangerous situations, particularly for young visitors.

“Operators should not force visitor numbers beyond capacity just because of the holiday season. Amusement parks must provide healthcare facilities on-site, including ambulances, clinics, and medical personnel,” she stated.

Additionally, Deputy Minister Ni Luh Puspa noted that amusement park management must coordinate continuously with the military and police, as well as local governments, regarding security measures and traffic management for vehicle entry and exit to prevent congestion.

“This ensures that holidays can proceed comfortably, safely, and enjoyably,” she concluded.
