JAKARTA (ANTARA) - Deputy Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Irene Umar has noted that the national entertainment industry continues to produce highly competitive young talent, particularly female musicians with strong character, clear artistic identity, and confidence in their work.

“Today’s music industry doesn’t just seek singers with strong vocal abilities but also individuals with a distinct identity, fan communities, and relevance in the digital age. This is what enables talent to endure and grow,” Irene stated in an official statement received in Jakarta on Wednesday.

Irene noted that the emergence of female musical talents through talent shows reflects an increasingly open competitive space in Indonesia’s music industry, encompassing vocal quality, stage presence, and the ability to build emotional connections with audiences.

“They are not just competing, but also complementing each other,” said the Deputy Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy.

The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy views the music subsector as a crucial part of the new growth engine through talent development, industry access expansion, and creative economy development.
