Deputy Minister of Social Affairs Agus Jabo Priyono received an audience with a representative delegation from Donggala Regency’s Regional Legislative Council, Muhammad Taufik, regarding the proposed development of a People’s School. The meeting addressed the readiness of land proposed by the local government as a development location.

During the audience, it was conveyed that the proposed land still had constraints as it comprised a swampy area. In response, Agus Jabo offered two optional solutions to enable the development proposal process to proceed.

“If the land is still swampy, there are two options available—either land reclamation work can be carried out or an alternative location can be prepared,” said Agus Jabo in a written statement on Friday, 13 March 2026.

Agus Jabo explained that the local government could undertake land reclamation through a filling process or prepare an alternative location that is better suited for development of the People’s School.

Responding to the directive, Taufik stated that his office would promptly follow up on the two options presented by the Ministry of Social Affairs upon returning to the region.

“Regarding Donggala’s readiness for the People’s School, we will implement this directive,” said Taufik.

For reference, there are several requirements that must be met in submitting land for the development of a People’s School. These include a minimum land area of 6.8 hectares, a land slope of less than 10 degrees, no ownership disputes, and supported by adequate road access and basic infrastructure.
