Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs: Maturity of peak Hajj mitigation proves government's seriousness

Makkah (ANTARA) - Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs Romo Muhammad Syafi’i said that the maturity of mitigation ahead of the peak phase of the Hajj pilgrimage is concrete evidence of the Indonesian government’s seriousness in serving the guests of Allah. “The seriousness is realised through detailed planning in facing the crucial phase at Arafah, Muzdalifah, and Mina (Armuzna),” he said after the Amir ul Hajj Coordination Meeting in Makkah on Thursday. He explained that this seriousness is demonstrated through planning that addresses the crucial phase at Arafah, Muzdalifah, and Mina (Armuzna). A range of mitigation scenarios have been prepared meticulously, from recording vehicle movements for murur and regular pilgrims, to providing logistics in the form of ready-to-eat meals (Ready to Eat, RTE), and to setting up anticipatory services for pilgrims whose health is affected. “This is a big dream that has long been awaited by all Indonesian prospective pilgrims. I am moved; a dream so easily achievable has only materialised today,” said Romo Syafi’i. The comprehensive mitigation, massive education, and strong synergy between Indonesian and Saudi authorities have proven effective in reducing the number of sick prospective Hajj pilgrims this year. The hard work and seriousness of Indonesia’s mitigation efforts have also earned international recognition. The Indonesian government received an official invitation from the Saudi Interior Minister who specifically praised Indonesia’s preparations for conducting the Hajj pilgrimage.
