Deputy Minister of Manpower: Training Programmes Aligned with Industrial Needs

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Deputy Minister of Manpower, Afriansyah Noor, stated that the Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker) continues to encourage the alignment of training programmes with the needs of the business and industrial worlds.

“This step is being taken to ensure that the competencies provided through training are relevant to the needs of the workforce,” said Deputy Minister Afriansynah in a statement received in Jakarta on Friday.

One of the strategic programmes implemented by the government to accelerate the relevance of human resource (HR) competencies with industrial needs is the National Vocational Training programme.

In North Maluku, 416 workers have completed Stage IV of the National Vocational Training, which was conducted at the Vocational Training and Productivity Centre (BPVP) in Ternate and the Vocational Training and Productivity Service Unit (Satpel PVP) in Sofifi.

“This is the beginning for participants to apply the competencies they have acquired in the real world,” said Afriansyah.

Furthermore, he added that the competencies and skills obtained through the National Vocational Training are expected to serve as capital for workers in North Maluku to enter the workforce and increase productivity.

This level of readiness, the Deputy Minister continued, is also necessary to ensure that the local workforce remains competitive and capable of adapting to technological developments.
