Deputy Minister of Komdigi states internet speed in Bakauheni reaches up to 30 Mbps
“At Bakauheni Port, the internet speed is recorded as stable at around 30 Mbps. This speed is deemed adequate to support passengers’ digital activities during the mudik and return flow,” said the Deputy Minister of Komdigi at the Bakauheni Port terminal on Friday.
According to him, this internet network speed is very capable of helping the public stay connected and reducing the risk of service disruptions amid the increased passenger traffic during the 2026 Lebaran return flow.
“The results of frequency spectrum monitoring indicate a safe condition. No disruptions were found during the return flow period. The public has stated that the network condition is relatively good and safe to use,” he said.
Although the internet network speed in Bakauheni has been above average over the past 12 days, the Ministry of Komdigi does not rule out the fact that on certain days, there have been declines in network performance.
“From the checks at Bakauheni Port, all reported issues have been resolved,” he said.
Therefore, he emphasised that the government is also operating mobile monitoring vehicles stationed at several strategic points. This fleet operates 24 hours and is scheduled to be on standby until 29 March 2026. This is done to ensure that internet network services remain stable for use by return travellers.
“We are conducting supervision in around 10 major cities. This is important because frequency greatly determines communication quality. The function of this monitoring is to ensure that communication service quality continues to run normally,” he stated.
