Deputy Minister of Investment Visits Palu to Review Special Economic Zone Progress

Deputy Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Deputy Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), Todotua Pasaribu, visited Palu, Central Sulawesi. Pasaribu arrived at Mutiara Sis Aljufri Airport on Thursday morning (17/4/2025) at 06.30 WITA aboard a Garuda Indonesia flight and was welcomed directly by regional officials, including Central Sulawesi Deputy Governor Dr Reny A. Lamadjido, members of the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda) of Central Sulawesi Province, and other regional heads of agencies.

Acting Assistant for Administration and Economic Affairs at the Palu City Regional Secretariat, Rahmat Mustafa, representing the Mayor of Palu, was also present to welcome the Deputy Minister.

The reception was marked by warmth and local cultural elements. In a symbolic gesture, Deputy Governor Reny A. Lamadjido placed a siga, the traditional male headpiece of Central Sulawesi, on the Deputy Minister as a sign of respect and appreciation for his visit to Bumi Tadulako.

Pasaribu is scheduled to carry out a number of strategic engagements during his visit to Central Sulawesi, including a direct inspection of progress at the Palu Special Economic Zone (KEK).

The visit forms part of the central government's efforts to ensure that industrial downstreaming programmes are being concretely implemented in regions with significant natural resource and industrial potential, including Palu.

The Deputy Minister's visit to Palu signals a strong commitment from the central government to accelerating regional economic transformation through synergy between national and local authorities. The visit is expected to provide a positive impetus for attracting new investment, creating employment, and enhancing regional economic competitiveness in support of the broader vision of Golden Indonesia 2045.
