Deputy Minister of Immigration and Corrections Detained by KPK, Presidential Palace Respects Legal Process
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi stated that the government respects the legal process against Deputy Minister of Immigration and Corrections Silmy Karim, who has been detained by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), on Thursday.
In addition, Prasetyo also mentioned the naming of a former leader of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) as a suspect by the Attorney General’s Office on Wednesday (June 3).
“Of course, the government respects the legal process being carried out by law enforcement officials, both the Attorney General’s Office and the KPK,” said Prasetyo in a written statement to reporters in Jakarta, Thursday.
Prasetyo said that in the past two days, the government has been concerned about these cases.
According to him, President Prabowo Subianto has repeatedly reminded all government officials to improve themselves and fight against corrupt practices in carrying out their daily duties.
“In various forums, Mr. President always reminds us to improve ourselves and fight against corrupt practices in carrying out our daily duties,” he said.
Prasetyo also said that regarding the position of Deputy Minister of Immigration and Corrections held by Silmy, this will be followed up in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations.
He added that they have also communicated with the Minister of Immigration and Corrections Agus Andrianto to ensure that this incident does not disrupt services to the public.

Based on reports from ANTARA reporters at the KPK’s Red and White Building, Jakarta, on Thursday, Silmy Karim walked towards the detention vehicle from inside the KPK building at around 08.36 WIB.
After that, former Acting Director General of Immigration Saffar Muhammad Godam, Head of the West Java Regional Office of the Directorate General of Immigration Jaya Saputra, Head of the Class I Special Non-TPI Immigration Office for West Jakarta Ronald Arman Abdullah, and four other people also wore KPK’s orange vests.
They are suspected of being involved in a corruption case within the Directorate General of Immigration.
The former leaders of the BGN who are being prosecuted by the Attorney General’s Office include former Head of BGN Dadan Hindayana, former Deputy Head of BGN for Organizational Development and Institutional Support Lodewyk Pusung, and former Deputy Head of BGN for Operational Nutrition Fulfillment Sony Sonjaya.
The three were named as suspects in a corruption case related to the management of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program at the BGN in 2025–2026.
