The Deputy Minister of Immigration and Correctional Services, Silmy Karim, finally visited the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) building on Wednesday (3/6/2026) evening. This follows reports that he was being sought in relation to a sting operation (OTT) in West Jakarta. Silmy was seen arriving at the KPK building at approximately 10:30 pm, entering the premises without providing any comments to the crowd of journalists waiting outside.

Previously, the KPK stated that Silmy was still in Jakarta at the time of the search. “The latest information our team has obtained regarding the whereabouts of Mr SK suggests that he is believed to be in Jakarta and the surrounding areas,” said Budi to journalists on Wednesday (3/6/2026).

Budi also urged Silmy to surrender himself to the KPK. “On this occasion, we also urge the individual concerned to be cooperative and perhaps surrender to the KPK to assist in the handling of this case,” Budi added.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Immigration and Correctional Services, Agus Andrianto, also advised Deputy Minister Silmy Karim to follow the applicable legal process. This advice was issued following news that the KPK was searching for Silmy Karim. “My advice to him is to follow the process, as we do not know how the investigation will develop,” Agus told journalists on Wednesday (3/6/2026).

Agus suggested that Silmy should choose a path of transparency so that the case can be clarified as soon as possible. “It is better for him to have this cleared up immediately,” said Agus.

Regarding Silmy’s connection to the KPK sting operation, Agus expressed his support for the ongoing legal proceedings. “We must support the ongoing legal process, and I ask everyone to be accommodative and support the proceedings,” Agus stated.
