Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Urges PIKI to Influence Public Policy

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Ribka Haluk has requested that the Indonesian Christian Intelligence Association (PIKI) become an organisation capable of exerting real influence on public policy and leaving a sustainable legacy.

“We want PIKI to be able to enter this arena and influence policy. There is a legacy that we must leave for the next five years and beyond,” Ribka stated in a statement received in Jakarta.

According to her, PIKI must not merely be an organisation that conducts ceremonial activities, but must be capable of building an ecosystem that produces ideas, cadres, and policies that impact society.

“When we are part of this organisation, it means we carry a great responsibility. I want PIKI to be an organisation that influences policy,” said Ribka, who also serves as the Deputy General Chair of PIKI.

She views poverty as one of the primary issues that requires PIKI’s attention. Therefore, she requested that the intellectuals, academics, professionals, entrepreneurs, and stakeholders within the organisation work together to produce policy concepts and recommendations that can help address the nation’s various challenges.

Ribka made these remarks during a meeting of the Central Executive Board (DPP) of PIKI in Jakarta on Saturday (6/6).

During the meeting, the General Chair of PIKI, Maruarar Sirait, asked Ribka to assist in identifying potential figures in Eastern Indonesia who possess the integrity and commitment to develop PIKI in the region.

The Minister of Housing and Residential Areas noted that the organisation’s success is heavily determined by the precision in selecting the human resources that will execute its vision and mission.

“So, please select people who are truly capable of carrying out PIKI’s vision and mission,” said Ara, his familiar nickname.
