Deputy Minister of Home Affairs urges improvement in healthcare quality at Yowari Public Hospital
Sentani (ANTARA) - Indonesia’s Deputy Minister of Home Affairs (Wamendagri) Ribka Haluk has urged improved healthcare service quality at Yowari Public Hospital (RSUD Yowari) in Jayapura Regency, Papua.
“Today I conducted an inspection to directly assess the conditions and healthcare services at RSUD Yowari,” she said in Sentani on Friday.
According to Haluk, healthcare services to the community must be continuously improved and more maximised moving forward to achieve superior and productive human resources.
“The central government will give special attention to RSUD Yowari and we have coordinated with the Minister of Health regarding the condition of the hospital,” she stated.
She explained that the government has made clear that if healthcare services at RSUD Yowari do not improve in the future, there is a possibility the central government will assume full control of healthcare service delivery.
“Healthcare service is a basic necessity of the community that must be ensured to run properly and optimally,” she said.
She added that the government has reminded RSUD Yowari management to undertake improvements to enhance service quality to the local community.
“A hospital as a public service facility must be able to ensure every community member receives adequate healthcare services,” she concluded.
