The Indonesian Christian Intelligence Association (PIKI) must become an organisation capable of exerting real influence on public policy and leaving a sustainable legacy for the nation. This was stated by the Deputy Minister of Home Affairs and PIKI Vice Chairperson, Ribka Haluk, during a meeting of the PIKI Central Executive Board (DPP) led by PIKI Chairperson Maruarar Sirait in Jakarta on Saturday.

“We want PIKI to be able to enter this arena and influence policy. There is a legacy that we must leave for the next five years and beyond. Therefore, we should not focus solely on short-term actions that end after five years. This is why I agree with building this ecosystem,” said Ribka.

During the meeting, Ribka expressed her appreciation to Maruarar Sirait for the trust placed in her to be involved in PIKI’s management. She noted that this responsibility serves as a calling to service alongside her duties as Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, where she oversees hundreds of regions across Indonesia. She also praised Sirait’s leadership, noting his ability to lead by example despite his high-ranking ministerial position.

Ribka emphasised that PIKI must not merely be an organisation that conducts ceremonial activities, but must instead build an ecosystem that generates ideas, cadres, and policies that impact society. She identified poverty as one of the primary issues requiring PIKI’s attention, urging intellectuals, academics, professionals, and business leaders within the organisation to collaborate on policy recommendations to address national challenges.

PIKI Chairperson Maruarar Sirait expressed his appreciation for Ribka Haluk’s commitment and performance in both her governmental duties and her contributions to PIKI. Sirait specifically noted Ribka’s expertise in understanding regional needs, particularly in Eastern Indonesia. He requested her assistance in identifying potential leaders in Papua, NTT, Maluku, and North Maluku who possess the integrity and commitment to expand PIKI’s presence in those regions, noting that the organisation’s success depends on selecting the right human resources to execute its vision and mission.
