Deputy Minister of Home Affairs (Wamendagri) Ribka Haluk conducted a surprise inspection (sidak) of healthcare services at Yowari General Hospital (RSUD Yowari) in Jayapura Regency, Papua. The inspection took place following a meeting with officials from the Jayapura Regency Government at the Bupati’s office.

Ribka emphasised that healthcare services are a basic necessity for the community that must be ensured to operate well and optimally.
“Healthcare services must be more optimal going forward. I have also conveyed to the Minister of Health that serious attention must be given to this RSUD Yowari. If there is no significant change within the coming months, there is a possibility that full takeover regarding healthcare services will be implemented,” Ribka said firmly on Friday (13 March 2026).
Ribka also reminded hospital management to immediately make improvements to enhance the quality of services to the community. She emphasised that evaluation of the hospital leadership can be conducted if they are unable to deliver changes.
Furthermore, Ribka stressed that hospitals as public service facilities must ensure every member of the community receives adequate healthcare services without patient rejection.
“The hope is that this hospital can provide better services to our community. There should be no more rejection or refusal to serve patients,” she stated.
Through this inspection, Ribka hopes the quality of healthcare services at Yowari General Hospital will continue to improve. In this way, the people of Jayapura Regency can obtain more optimal healthcare services.
