Deputy Minister of Hajj: All 2027 Hajj Officials Mandatory to Undergo Training in Barracks
Makkah (ANTARA) - The Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak, has stated that all 2027 Hajj officials are required to undergo education and training (diklat) in barracks to provide higher quality service to Indonesian Hajj pilgrims. “Moving forward, we will ensure that all officials must participate in training. Field experience shows that service quality is heavily influenced by the readiness of officials before they begin their duties,” Dahnil said in Makkah on Wednesday.
This mandatory training applies comprehensively to all personnel without exception, ranging from the Hajj Organising Officers in Saudi Arabia (PPIH Arab Saudi) and Regional Hajj Officers (PHD) to group and embarkation officials. The policy is expected to bridge the skill gap between officials recruited nationally and those from regional levels.
As a manifestation of the government’s commitment to improving pilgrim service and comfort, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah will also implement structural innovation by forming a dedicated Armuzna Working Area (Daker Armuzna) for the 2027 Hajj operations. Dahnil explained that this new working unit will focus entirely on managing operations at crucial points, namely the Arafah, Muzdalifah, and Mina (Armuzna) areas.
“In the future, we will establish the Armuzna Working Area, which will be specifically tasked only within Armuzna,” Dahnil stated. With this specialised unit, assigned officials will no longer be burdened with additional duties in other sectors. They will be able to concentrate all their energy and attention on overseeing smooth movement and ensuring the safety of millions of pilgrims during the peak phase of the Hajj pilgrimage.
These innovations and improvements in official capacity are the result of positive evaluations from the 2026 Hajj administration. Thorough preparations conducted early are believed to be the primary key to delivering a Hajj administration that is increasingly orderly, professional, and fully oriented towards pilgrim safety.
