The Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak, has stated that all 2027 Hajj officials are required to undergo education and training (diklat) in barracks to provide superior service quality to Indonesian Hajj pilgrims. “Moving forward, we will ensure that all officials must participate in training. Field experience shows that service quality is heavily influenced by the readiness of officials before they begin work,” Dahnil said in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, on Wednesday (3/6/2026).

This mandatory training applies comprehensively to all personnel without exception, including the Hajj Organising Committee (PPIH) in Saudi Arabia, Regional Hajj Officials (PHD), as well as group and embarkation officers. The policy is expected to bridge the skill gap between officials recruited nationally and those from regional levels.

Dahnil explained that as a manifestation of the government’s commitment to improving pilgrim services and comfort, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah will also implement structural innovations by forming a dedicated Armuzna Working Area (Daker) specifically for the 2027 Hajj operations. This new unit will focus entirely on managing operations in the crucial areas of Arafah, Muzdalifah, and Mina (Armuzna).

“In the future, we will establish the Armuzna Working Area, which will be specifically tasked only with duties within Armuzna,” Dahnil stated. With this specialised unit, assigned officials will no longer be burdened with additional tasks in other sectors, allowing them to concentrate their full energy and attention on managing movement and ensuring the safety of millions of pilgrims during the peak phase of the Hajj pilgrimage. These innovations and capacity improvements are the result of positive evaluations from the 2026 Hajj administration. Early and thorough preparation is believed to be the key to delivering a more orderly, professional, and safety-oriented Hajj pilgrimage.
