Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Deputy Minister of Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia, Irene Umar, has invited the Indonesian people to take pride in purchasing and using local Indonesian products to drive national economic growth through creative economy activities.

“Everyone must be willing to use local Indonesian products, all of which are high quality,” said Irene Umar during the opening of The Local Market Pasar Wiwitan SCBD in Jakarta on Saturday.

Irene believes that Indonesian creative economy entrepreneurs should be given the opportunity to produce high-quality goods. According to her, entrepreneurs have already created a diverse range of products and crafts through skilled craftsmanship that results in premium quality.

“Currently, many Indonesian products have gone global and are ready to compete with those from abroad,” she stated.

Irene also asked journalists if any of them were wearing local shoes to the event, noting that only a small number of people were doing so. “Everyone must be willing to use products from Indonesia and be used by Indonesians. From us, for us,” she said.

She urged the Indonesian public to provide support to local entrepreneurs, including artisans, Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), and creative economy actors who produce these goods. “It must all start with us so that Indonesian products can regain their glory,” she added.

The Local Market Pasar Wiwitan was held for two days in the SCBD Sudirman area, Central Jakarta, on Saturday and Sunday. The event featured art performances, a bazaar for creative economy products, shopping areas, and culinary offerings from creative entrepreneurs.
