Deputy Minister of Creative Economy says national figures' stories are high-value intellectual property

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Deputy Minister of Creative Economy/Deputy Head of the Creative Economy Agency (Wamenekraf) Irene Umar stated that the life journeys of national figures form part of high-value intellectual property (IP). She conveyed this during the launch of the biography book “Jejak Langkah Satya Widya Yudha: Pengabdian Tanpa Batas,” which recounts Satya Widya Yudha’s contributions in the energy sector. “Through this biography, we learn about integrity in facing global crises. We hope this book will inspire creative practitioners to package heavy issues like energy transformation into works that are easily digestible by the public,” Irene said in her statement in Jakarta on Saturday. Irene assessed that amid global energy challenges, Satya Widya Yudha’s dedication serves as a moral and intellectual compass that is needed. “Energy resilience and the creative economy are two pillars that mutually support the nation’s stability,” Irene stated. This is seen as contributing to the advancement of the publishing ecosystem and driving national economic growth. The biography launch event, organised by the Listrik Indonesia Forum, forms part of a discussion titled “Indonesia Energy Outlook in The Midst of Global Politics Dynamics,” highlighting the strengthening of national energy resilience amid global dynamics. It encompasses his career from being an oil and gas professional in a multinational company, legislator, to serving on the National Energy Council (DEN). “Sharing knowledge is the path to immortality, so through this book, I want to pass on notes of important events in the national energy history, including the struggle to build the Tangguh LNG in Papua, so that it can become beneficial literacy for future generations,” Satya said.
