Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital says internet network remains stable during Lebaran return flow
Lampung (ANTARA) - Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital (Wamen Komdigi) Angga Raka Prabowo stated that the telecommunications network conditions during the peak of the 2026 Lebaran return flow at Bakauheni Port, Lampung, were monitored as stable, even though there had been a temporary drop in speed due to a surge in traffic.
“Today, we are directly monitoring the developments of the return flow in the field. Indeed, at certain moments, the bandwidth dropped, so the access speed was felt to be slower by the public,” said Wamen Komdigi Angga Raka Prabowo when interviewed at the Bakauheni Port terminal on Friday.
He assessed that the readiness of the telecommunications network is an important part of the smooth return flow. A stable network helps passengers stay connected and reduces the risk of service disruptions amid increased traffic.
He explained that based on monitoring results, the service quality was in good condition at key points. At the Bakauheni Port terminal, internet speeds were recorded as stable in the range of 30 to 37 Mbps. This speed is considered adequate to support passengers’ digital activities.
According to him, the frequency spectrum monitoring results also showed safe conditions. No interference disruptions were found during the post period. Digital infrastructure personnel were on full alert to keep services running normally.
In addition to network monitoring, he said, the government also deployed field monitoring teams to ensure service quality remained maintained.
“From the earlier checks at Bakauheni Port, all reported issues have been resolved. Overall, services have returned to normal. As a result, the public stated that the network conditions are relatively good and safe to use,” he said.
He explained that the monitoring function is not only to ensure communication service quality but also to oversee the use of the frequency spectrum, including radio networks.
“We are conducting supervision around 10 major cities. This is important because frequency greatly determines communication quality,” he said.
Wamen Komdigi emphasised that his side will continue to strengthen supervision to maintain connectivity quality during the return flow period.
He also urged the public to remain cautious during their journeys and to use communication services wisely.
“If there are any issues, the public can report them so they can be followed up immediately. They are working 24 hours to ensure the public remains well connected,” he said.
