Deputy Minister of Basic and Secondary Education: IFP Helps Students Understand Material and Better Prepare for Academic Ability Tests

The presence of Interactive Flat Panels (IFP) in schools is a directive from President Prabowo Subianto to strengthen more interactive learning. Mataram (ANTARA) - Deputy Minister of Basic and Secondary Education Fajar Riza Ul Haq stated that the use of Interactive Flat Panels (IFP) helps students understand material and better prepare for academic ability test (TKA) questions. Deputy Minister Fajar emphasised that the presence of IFP in schools is a directive from President Prabowo Subianto to strengthen more interactive learning. “The IFP in these schools is an order from Father President Prabowo. The aim is for learning to be more interactive and to help children understand material better,” he said during a two-day working visit on 13-14 April 2026, reviewing the implementation and readiness of the academic ability test (TKA) in several schools in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). Officially, the TKA for junior secondary/equivalent level takes place from 6-16 April 2026, while the TKA for primary/equivalent level is scheduled for 20-30 April 2026. “TKA does not determine graduation. This is to capture our academic abilities, especially literacy and numeracy, so that our PISA scores rise. Don’t be afraid. Make this part of the learning process,” advised Deputy Minister Fajar during a dialogue with students. In addition to monitoring the TKA implementation, Deputy Minister Fajar also emphasised that his two-day visit to various schools in NTB is to affirm the grand vision of Minister Abdul Mu’ti to realise quality education for all. “We want to affirm that the state is present for everyone,” he asserted. “Amid advances in artificial intelligence, the most valuable thing is character. Intelligence can be trained quickly, but character is built over years, and intelligence can be sought, but character cannot be bought,” he said. In several agendas, this visit was accompanied by NTB Governor Lalu Muhamad Iqbal. “We convey our thanks for the presence of Deputy Minister Fajar in NTB. This visit affirms that the government is present for all groups and all educational units, especially in NTB where the community conditions are quite diverse,” said the NTB Governor. “The challenge with TKA questions is in the story model, so it takes quite a bit of time to solve them,” said one female student. Another student added that since using IFP, the material has become easier to understand and helps their practice for several TKA questions. The series of Deputy Minister Fajar’s visits in NTB over two days included SD Dwijendra Mataram, SMP Negeri 6 Mataram, Sekolah Rakyat Menengah Pertama 16 Lombok Barat at Sentra Paramita Mataram, Mu’allimin Muhammadiyah Lombok Barat, SMP Islam Roja Husnul Khotimah, SMA Katolik Kesuma Mataram which has received revitalisation assistance for roof and ceiling repairs, and SMK Plus Munirul Arifin NW Praya.
