Deputy Minister of ATR/BPN Urges Acceleration of Land Services to Eliminate Backlogs by Year-End

JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Deputy Head of the National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) Ossy Dermawan has requested the acceleration of land services to ensure no backlogs of files by the end of the year. This was stated during a review of weekend services at the Semarang City Land Office on Saturday (18/4/2025). During the visit, Ossy stressed the importance of resolving files without delays amid the increasing volume of public applications. “Amid the rising volume of services, public expectations are also increasing. At the same time, we are demanded to work quickly with a high level of accuracy,” said Ossy, as quoted on Monday (20/4/2026). He noted that land service applications in Central Java province are currently quite high, potentially leading to file backlogs if not properly anticipated. “Prepare mitigations, don’t let us be overwhelmed. Don’t delay, resolve it now so that by the end of the year there are no more meetings about backlogs,” he emphasised. In addition to acceleration, he also encouraged innovations in services to facilitate land business processes. The Land Office, as the frontline of services, is expected to provide breakthroughs that match the needs of the public in the field. “To facilitate business processes, please support with information on matters that need to be improved so that the policies taken are in line with conditions in the regions in directly facing the public,” he said. Ossy added that improving service quality does not only depend on the internal ministry but also requires strong communication and synergy with various parties, including local governments and law enforcement officials. According to him, such collaboration is essential to ensure optimal, accountable land services with minimal obstacles amid high public needs.
