Deputy Minister for Villages and Underdeveloped Regions urges South Papua's youth to be part of change
Jayapura (ANTARA) - Deputy Minister for Villages and Underdeveloped Regions (Wamendes PDT) Ahmad Riza Patria is urging the youth of South Papua Province to utilise technological progress to become part of change. “We are encouraging the community, particularly the youth in South Papua, to be part of change and to fill development with positive contributions,” he said in a press release received by Antara in Jayapura on Thursday. According to Patria, development is not only about what is built but also about who needs it, so it must be understood that street lighting is a vital part of basic infrastructure for the community. “The development of basic infrastructure such as street lighting is part of efforts to affirm underdeveloped areas and alleviate poverty,” he stated. “If access improves, then the sense of security increases, economic activities grow, and the impact will spread to other sectors,” he added. He further explained that if this is maintained and developed continuously, the status of villages will gradually improve from underdeveloped to developing, and then from developing to advanced.
