Jakarta — Deputy Minister for Tourism Ni Luh Puspa has assured tourists visiting the Malang and Batu areas in East Java during the Nyepi and Lebaran holiday breaks that they will enjoy safe and comfortable travel experiences.

“We want to ensure that all tourist facilities operate in accordance with safety standards and undergo regular inspections. The comfort and safety of visitors must be a top priority,” Ni Luh said in an official statement confirmed in Jakarta on Thursday.

During a working visit to Malang and Batu on Wednesday (11 March), Ni Luh inspected the readiness of Abdulrachman Saleh Airport, the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park area, and Jatim Park 3, including Dino Park, the World Music Museum, and The Legend Star area. She also reviewed the state of public services, health facilities, sanitation, and security aspects at each destination visited.

She outlined various preparatory measures, including access route security, the availability of tourist support infrastructure and facilities, and area security mechanisms.

These measures include periodic ramp checks of tourist jeeps operating in Bromo by the Transportation Department, the provision of medical personnel and ambulances, the availability of ticket information, and increases in personnel numbers.

“Therefore, the smooth operation of tourism activities in the TNBTS area is not only the responsibility of the management, but also of all local governments involved,” she said.

At Jatim Park 3, regular and detailed inspections of ride conditions are being conducted as an important aspect of ensuring visitor safety. This receives particular attention given that the amusement park is one of the public’s favourite destinations for family holidays during extended breaks, alongside nature tourism destinations.

“The Ministry of Tourism has issued a Ministerial Circular requesting local governments, destination managers, and tourism associations to ensure that the Nyepi and Lebaran holidays proceed safely, comfortably, and enjoyably for tourists,” she said.

“Tourists should pay attention to various information related to the destinations they will visit. Such information can be obtained through the official websites and social media of destination managers or local governments. In this way, tourists can enjoy a safe, comfortable, and memorable holiday experience when visiting various destinations in Indonesia,” she added.
