Deputy Minister for State Apparatus Utilization and Bureaucratic Reform Ensures Optimal Public Transport Services at Airports and Ports
Deputy Minister for State Apparatus Utilization and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB), Purwadi Arianto, conducted an inspection of public transport services in the Soekarno-Hatta Airport and Tanjung Priok Port areas. This inspection was carried out to ensure that public services during the Eid period run optimally, with quality, and oriented towards public satisfaction.
During his visit, Purwadi emphasised the importance of fulfilling minimum service standards by public transport providers, particularly at strategic points such as airports and ports. These standards cover aspects of security, safety, comfort, affordability, and punctuality.
“The government is committed to ensuring that transportation services during the Idulfitri period run optimally. We encourage strengthened coordination between agencies and integration between transport modes to guarantee smooth mudik and return flows, as well as to minimise potential service disruptions,” said Purwadi in a written statement on Wednesday (18/3/2026).
This inspection is part of strengthening oversight of bureaucratic reform implementation, particularly in the transport sector, which is one of the strategic public services. On that occasion, Purwadi also reviewed various modes of transport, from ticketing services and mass transport to integrated shuttles.
Furthermore, he emphasised the importance of integration between transport modes to support efficient and sustainable public mobility.
“Public transport services at airports and ports are the first face of public services felt by the public. Therefore, the quality of services must be truly maintained, both in terms of security, comfort, and ease of access,” he stated.
On the same occasion, the Deputy Minister of PANRB also held direct dialogues with service users and managers to absorb input as material for evaluation. This effort is expected to encourage continuous improvements in the organisation of transport services.
“Input from the public is an important part of efforts to improve service quality. The government is committed to continuously making improvements so that public services are increasingly responsive to public needs,” he added.
Also present in the inspection was Deputy Minister of Transportation Suntana, who ensured the readiness of transport services during the mudik period.
“We understand that Idulfitri is an important moment for the public to gather with family. Therefore, we are committed to providing comfortable and friendly transport services, so that the public can experience safe and enjoyable journeys,” Suntana concluded.
