Deputy Minister for ATR/BPN optimises GTRA to accelerate land dispute resolution in Tanah Laut
Deputy Minister for Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning and National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) Ossy Dermawan has urged the optimisation of the Agrarian Reform Task Force (GTRA) to accelerate the resolution of land conflicts and disputes faced by communities across various regions, including Tanah Laut Regency in South Kalimantan.
The push to strengthen land dispute resolution came during Ossy Dermawan’s working visit to Tanah Laut, where he was welcomed by Regent H. Rahmat Trianto, Deputy Regent H.M. Zazuli, regional security and government officials, local administration representatives, village heads, and land certificate recipients at Balairung Tuntung Pandang in Pelaihari.
Deputy Minister Ossy Dermawan, speaking in Pelaihari on Monday, said land conflicts and disputes frequently arise across regions and require a resolution mechanism involving all stakeholders.
“Land conflicts and disputes can occur anywhere. One step that can be optimised is through the Agrarian Reform Task Force (GTRA) in accordance with Presidential Regulation No. 62. This provides a platform for all parties to mediate and find the best solutions to existing issues,” he said.
Optimising this forum is crucial, he added, as land disputes not only affect legal certainty of land ownership but also hinder investment, regional development, and community welfare.
Meanwhile, Tanah Laut Regent Rahmat Trianto welcomed the central government’s support in addressing land issues, which remain a key need for local communities.
The Deputy Minister’s visit to Tanah Laut demonstrates synergy between central and local governments in resolving land disputes.
Furthermore, Rahmat explained that Tanah Laut’s population of approximately 372,000 based on the 2025 census requires legal certainty over land ownership and usage, which is increasingly important for supporting economic activities and development.
“We are committed to strengthening coordination with ATR/BPN and all stakeholders to resolve land issues more swiftly, ensuring legal certainty for the community which will improve welfare,” he said.
