West Lombok, NTB (ANTARA) - Deputy Minister of Basic and Secondary Education (Wamendikdasmen) Fajar Riza Ul Haq assured that Sekolah Rakyat receives the best learning through the support of quality teachers. “Sekolah Rakyat is supported by quality teachers so that children receive the best education,” said Fajar Riza Ul Haq during his visit to Sekolah Rakyat Menengah Pertama (SRMP) 16 West Lombok, located at Sentra Paramitha Mataram in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), on Monday. In a dialogue with teachers and students, Fajar emphasised that the quality of learning is the key to the success of Sekolah Rakyat. “Under the leadership of Minister Abdul Mu’ti, the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education continues to provide full support for Sekolah Rakyat, one of which is by preparing quality teachers and strengthening ongoing mentoring through regional UPTs, such as the Balai Guru and Educational Personnel Centre, to ensure that the quality of learning is truly maintained and continuously improved,” he stated. He added that his visit was also to ensure that teacher mentoring is running well and synergy between local governments is maintained. “I am here to ensure that our UPTs are involved in mentoring teachers at Sekolah Rakyat, while also ensuring that this programme runs with good inter-government synergy at the local level, both UPTs under the Ministry of Education and UPTs under the Ministry of Social Affairs that manage Sekolah Rakyat, so that the benefits are truly felt by our children,” said Fajar. On that occasion, Fajar also took the time to inspect the dormitory and the students’ learning environment directly. He emphasised that Sekolah Rakyat plays an important role in reaching children from the first and second decile groups to obtain decent and quality education services. Meanwhile, in a dialogue with students, Fajar asked about their learning experiences, aspirations, and views on Sekolah Rakyat. The students said they were happy to be able to attend school for free, have many friends, and learn with good facilities. One student conveyed that Sekolah Rakyat gives him the opportunity to grow equally and pursue a better future, while another student wants to make his parents proud and help the community that is still facing difficulties. The dialogue atmosphere warmed when one student expressed thanks to President Prabowo for the presence of Sekolah Rakyat. “Thank you, Mr President Prabowo. May Mr President always be healthy and successful,” said the student. Several students also described Sekolah Rakyat as a path to break the chain of poverty and open new hopes for children from underprivileged families. The Principal of Sekolah Rakyat Menengah Pertama (SRMP) 16 West Lombok, Irwandi, expressed appreciation for the visit of Deputy Minister Fajar.
