Deputy Minister of Human Rights Mugiyanto stated that the state civil apparatus (ASN) is the frontline in respecting and protecting human rights, as they interact directly with the public through daily public services. “The way the public views the government is largely determined by the quality of its apparatus’s service. Therefore, an understanding of human rights must be a guiding principle for every civil servant in carrying out their duties,” he said in Bandarlampung on Tuesday. He explained that the Lampung Provincial Government has demonstrated a strong commitment to making human rights the foundation for policy-making and the implementation of development programmes. “We appreciate the commitment of the Lampung Provincial Government in making human rights values an integral part of governance,” he added. According to Mugiyanto, the Ministry of Human Rights is ready to strengthen collaboration with the Lampung Provincial Government, including through the Ministry’s Regional Office, to support the resolution of human rights issues in the region. “As duty bearers of rights, we hold the responsibility to ensure that human rights principles benefit our future work, so that what has been proclaimed by the President and Vice President towards a Golden Indonesia 2045 can be realised,” he said.
