Deputy Minister Bima Urges Youth to Improve Themselves for Golden Indonesia 2045

Bogor, VIVA – Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Bima Arya Sugiarto has urged the youth to continuously improve their quality and capacity in preparation for Golden Indonesia 2045. The call comes as international organisations express optimism about Indonesia’s potential to become one of the world’s largest economies in the future. In this context, a highly skilled human resource base is vital for driving national development and economic growth.

During his keynote speech at the Fourth Congress of the Independent Student Political Bloc at the National Narcotics Agency’s Human Resource Development Centre in Bogor, West Java, on Saturday, 30 May 2026, Bima explained: ‘We are currently experiencing a demographic dividend – where the working-age population exceeds the elderly and children. However, this demographic dividend is not permanent.’

He reminded students not to be confused about their future, stressing that youth must resolve their own challenges and have clear life goals to maximise their potential. Bima emphasised that the quality of the youth is not just about individual abilities but also their concern for the community. He said they should be active, socially aware, and collaborate across sectors to address issues.

‘Remember my words: the future belongs to those skilled in networking and collaboration,’ he said.

Bima also encouraged students to strengthen their competencies and broaden their global perspective without losing their Indonesian identity. He noted that success depends not only on existing abilities but also on the willingness to keep learning, taking action, and seizing opportunities.
