Deputy Manpower Minister (Wamenaker) Afriansyah Noor conducted a surprise inspection (sidak) regarding the layoffs (PHK) affecting 133 workers of PT Amos Indah Indonesia (AII) in the Nusantara Bonded Zone (KBN) Cakung, North Jakarta, on Thursday (18/6/2026).

The move was a follow-up to an audience received by the Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker) from the Confederation of Indonesian Labour Unions on 4 June 2026. The inspection was carried out to address the layoff issues experienced by the garment company’s workers.

In a mediation session bringing both parties together, Afriansyah encouraged the workers and the company to prioritise dialogue to find the best solution to the dispute.

During the mediation process, PT AII’s management presented an improved compensation offer for the workers affected by the layoffs. The offer became one of the main points discussed in efforts to reach an agreement between the company and the workers.

“Earlier, the company offered an improvement in the calculation of workers’ rights to one times the applicable provisions, up from the previous 0.5 times. Please consider this offer carefully,” Afriansyah said in a statement, quoted on Friday (19/6/2026).

Afriansyah asked the 133 laid-off workers to consider the company’s latest offer thoroughly. According to him, if an agreement is not reached, a resolution path is still available through the industrial relations mechanism as stipulated in the laws and regulations.

“If an agreement has not been reached, the industrial dispute resolution mechanism is still available in accordance with the applicable provisions,” he stated.

He emphasised that the Ministry of Manpower will continue to oversee the resolution process of this case. Additionally, the government will facilitate communication between the workers and the company to ensure workers’ rights are fulfilled in accordance with the applicable provisions.

The layoff case at PT Amos Indah Indonesia previously drew the attention of the Ministry of Manpower following a complaint from the Confederation of Indonesian Labour Unions. Through government-facilitated mediation, it is hoped that both parties can find common ground and reach a mutually agreed settlement.
