Deputy Manpower Minister: Investment Must Have Real Impact on Quality Job Creation
Bekasi. The Ministry of Manpower has emphasised that every investment must have a real impact on the creation of quality jobs. This was stressed by Deputy Manpower Minister Afriansyah Noor at the inauguration of PT Givaudan Indonesia’s new production facility in the GIIC area, Cikarang, Bekasi, on Friday.
"Every new investment holds strategic meaning for the government in efforts to expand employment opportunities. Our focus is to ensure that business growth is directly proportional to the availability of quality jobs for the Indonesian people," said Wamenaker.
Afriansyah stated that this new production facility serves as one of the government’s monitoring points regarding the utilisation of investment for job creation. In the initial phase of this expansion, known as the Kartini Project, the company has absorbed 60 new workers. In the next phase, the new production facility is targeted to absorb up to 400 workers.
Beyond job absorption, the government also reminded PT Givaudan Indonesia to continue fulfilling its operational obligations in accordance with labour standards. This includes implementing a fair wage system, guaranteeing normative rights, and strengthening bipartite communication with the trade union (SPKEP SPSI PT Givaudan Indonesia) to maintain harmonious industrial relations.
"The government continues to encourage every business entity, including PT Givaudan Indonesia, to prioritise the principle that successful investment must provide broad benefits, especially for the welfare of workers and the surrounding community," he concluded.
