Deputy Labour Minister believes strengthening competencies makes the workforce increasingly adaptive

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Deputy Minister of Manpower (Wamenaker) Afriansyah Noor believes that strengthening competencies makes the workforce increasingly adaptive to the rapidly changing world of work.

In his statement in Jakarta on Friday, the Deputy Minister noted that current job market trends demand that workers possess skills and competencies relevant to industry needs, rather than relying solely on diplomas.

“The world of work today does not only look at diplomas, but also competencies. Certification becomes an important added value so that workers can compete and develop, as well as adapt to industry needs,” he said.

Furthermore, he explained that strengthening competencies can be achieved through cooperation with various training and certification institutions, such as the vocational training centres of the Ministry of Manpower, the Polytechnic of Manpower, and the National Professional Certification Agency.

In addition, the man familiarly known as Ferry emphasised the importance of harmonious industrial relations in the workplace environment.

He also invited company trade unions to maintain unity and prioritise deliberation in resolving various issues at the workplace.

“If communication runs well and all parties support each other, then the company will advance and workers will become more prosperous,” said Deputy Minister Ferry.

He believes that the welfare of employees and their families is an important part of maintaining the sustainability of the company.

“With a spirit of togetherness, mutual trust, and strong commitment, we can continue to maintain harmony and collectively guide the company’s future to be better,” said Sandry.
