Indonesia’s Deputy Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Deputy Head of BKPM, Todotua Pasaribu, received an audience from the China Huaneng Group delegation on Monday (6/4/2026) to discuss investment cooperation opportunities in the energy sector. The meeting focused on the development of new and renewable energy, particularly power plants based on hydroelectric (water) and solar (sun) sources, with an initial investment plan of 50 megawatts (MW). In the meeting, the government reaffirmed its commitment to continue encouraging the entry of quality investments that are not only oriented towards economic growth but also provide added value for national development. “We encourage investments that can strengthen national energy resilience while supporting sustainable development,” Todotua stated. He added that the renewable energy sector is one of the government’s priorities in promoting energy transition and reducing dependence on fossil fuel sources. Cooperation with China Huaneng Group is considered strategic given the company’s global experience in developing large-scale energy projects, including environmentally friendly power plants.
