Deputy Interior Minister States Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah as a Momentum for National Unity

Deputy Interior Minister (Wamendagri) Bima Arya Sugiarto stated that Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah serves as a moment of national unity. He emphasised that unity is not only important for society but also for leaders, particularly amid various current geopolitical challenges.

” Nationally, we face many challenges, but rest assured that with our unity, with our tradition of strengthening togetherness, we will be able to overcome them all,” he said in a written statement on Saturday (21/3/2026).

He made these remarks after performing Eid prayers at Taman Reinwardt, Bogor Botanical Gardens, West Java.

On that occasion, Bima also appreciated the unity continuously maintained by leaders, especially in Bogor City, through synergy between ulama and umara.

He also highlighted Bogor’s characteristically cool atmosphere and its sociable community as social strengths that need to be continually nurtured. According to him, this unity becomes positive energy to address various future challenges.

Bima stated that the primary meaning of Eid al-Fitr is returning to one’s fitrah. During the month of Ramadan, Muslims have been tempered through various trials to then resolve to become better individuals. This also serves as a reminder for leaders to continuously strive to give their best for the nation and state.

“We realise our identity as humans who are full of shortcomings. We strive to always become better,” he added.

Bima further noted that the government continues to endeavour to accommodate various public aspirations. Although not all issues can be resolved in a short time, he asked the public to place trust in the central and regional governments to work optimally.

“To be able to work hard to fulfil all the expectations from the citizens,” he concluded.
