Deputy Interior Minister Reminds on Efficiency During 30th Anniversary of Regional Autonomy Day

The Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) held a ceremony to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Regional Autonomy Day in 2026. During the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs (Wamendagri) Bima Arya acted as the inspecting officer, which took place in the courtyard of the Kemendagri office in Central Jakarta on Monday, 27 April 2026. Several regional heads attended the ceremony, including Jakarta Deputy Governor Rano Karno and East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa. In his address, Bima Arya reminded attendees of President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto’s message regarding effective and efficient governance. “In this commemoration of regional autonomy, allow me to convey the message and directive that is often reminded by the President to continue delivering governance that is not only effective but also efficient,” said Bima Arya. He explained that efficiency is not merely about budget savings. Efficiency, he said, is a new way to manage government. “Efficiency is not just savings. Efficiency is not just numbers reported to superiors. Efficiency is a new way to manage government, a transformation of work culture from all of us,” he stated. He then expressed appreciation to regional heads who consistently implement efficiency despite full challenges. “We appreciate the regional heads who very consistently continue their efforts to achieve APBD efficiency with all its challenges,” concluded Bima Arya.
