Jakarta (ANTARA) - Deputy Interior Minister Bima Arya Sugiarto has reminded first-level cadets of the Institute of Domestic Governance (IPDN) to continue maintaining consistent performance during their assignment in Aceh Tamiang Regency, Aceh. He stressed that the third wave of IPDN cadet deployments has the potential to be the final one, thus demanding that the cadets end their service in Aceh Tamiang on a positive note without leaving any negative marks. “Please always uphold the good name of our proud institution, IPDN, and the Ministry of Home Affairs,” Bima stated in his remarks in Jakarta on Thursday. This reminder was delivered by Bima after serving as the reviewing officer for the welcoming ceremony of the First-Level Cadet Unit in Aceh Tamiang. In his address, Bima also recalled the conditions in Aceh Tamiang three months earlier, which were in a dire situation with limited basic facilities and halted government activities. “Three months ago, this place was truly paralysed. The atmosphere was vastly different from when your seniors entered this area. The situation was tense, with no lighting, no water, and all activities at a standstill,” he said. According to him, the previously assigned cadets faced far from ideal conditions. However, over the past three months, the situation has gradually recovered thanks to the hard work of the cadets together with the local government (Pemda) and elements of the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda). Currently, government activities have resumed, and public services are beginning to normalise. “Do not misread the field situation; never take it lightly,” Bima advised. He explained that while previously the cadets played a role in restoring government functions, this stage of the assignment demands more direct involvement amidst the community. Finally, Bima reminded that the success of the service is not only determined by the ability to start well but also by the ability to complete tasks effectively. “Races are often decided not by how we start, but by how we finish and conclude,” he stated. On that occasion, Bima also directly inspected the operational points in Dusun Bahagia and Dusun Amalia, which will serve as the cadets’ assignment locations. At those sites, the cadets will focus on cleaning mud from residents’ homes, drainage, and village roads as part of efforts to accelerate environmental recovery post-disaster.
