Jakarta (ANTARA) - Deputy Interior Minister Ribka Haluk emphasised the importance of synchronisation and consistency in development planning between the central government and regions through musyawarah perencanaan pembangunan (musrenbang).

“Musrenbang plays an important role in aligning development planning in a tiered manner so that the direction of regional development remains consistent with the national development vision,” said Ribka in her statement in Jakarta on Tuesday.

This was conveyed by Ribka Haluk at the Musyawarah Perencanaan Pembangunan (Musrenbang) for the Regional Government Work Plan (RKPD) of Papua Pegunungan Province for 2027.

The musrenbang was themed “Accelerating Human Development and Inclusive Basic Services to Strengthen Competitiveness and Welfare of the People of Papua Pegunungan”.

On that occasion, Ribka delivered a speech from Interior Minister Muhammad Tito Karnavian, who emphasised that musrenbang is a strategic forum to ensure that regional development aligns with national priorities.

She added that 2027 is the third year of implementing the Regional Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMD) 2025–2029.

Thus, the 2027 RKPD has a crucial role in determining the achievement of the regional head’s vision while supporting the targets of the National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN) 2025–2029.

“2027 becomes a determining momentum. The RKPD must be able to serve as an instrument that ensures the achievement of the regional vision while supporting national priorities,” she said.

“The implementation of Astacita must be translated concretely into regional programmes that directly address community needs so that the benefits of development can be felt tangibly and equitably,” said Ribka.

The Deputy Interior Minister also appreciated the development achievements in Papua Pegunungan over the past five years, which show a positive trend.

However, she reminded that there are still several indicators below the national average.

“The Human Development Index (HDI) of Papua Pegunungan continues to increase to 54.91 in 2025, but it remains the lowest nationally. Economic growth is also still below the national average, and the poverty rate is still quite high although it continues to decline,” she said.

“Strong coordination among forkopimda is an important factor in maintaining security stability. Without conducive conditions, development implementation will not run optimally,” said Ribka.

The musrenbang was also attended by the Deputy for Infrastructure from the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas, the Governor of Papua Pegunungan and his staff, the Papua Pegunungan DPR, MRP, BP3OKP, as well as regents and deputy regents throughout Papua Pegunungan Province.

As part of the event, the Papua Pegunungan Provincial Government handed over facilities and infrastructure for population administration and civil registration services to eight regencies as an effort to improve the quality of public services.

The results of the 2027 RKPD Musrenbang will subsequently serve as the basis for refining the final draft of the 2027 RKPD for Papua Pegunungan Province, while strengthening data-based planning and regional governance.
