Deputy House Speaker Confident Jakarta Composite Index Will Rise After Eid Holiday
Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR) Sufmi Dasco Ahmad expressed confidence that the Jakarta Composite Index (IHSG) on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) will rise following the Eid al-Fitr holiday. Dasco highlighted that the IHSG had already shown gains at the end of March 2025.
The increase came after the IHSG had declined from mid to late in the month. "After the holiday, it will go back up," Dasco stated firmly, as quoted from Zona Bisnis, Metro TV, on Tuesday, 1 April 2025.
Meanwhile, Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Rosan Roeslani responded to negative sentiment surrounding the Jakarta Composite Index. He noted that following the announcement of the Danantara management team, the IHSG had risen and was trending positively.
"If you look at it, this morning the IHSG was down, but right when the Danantara announcement came out it actually went up. It had been down 200-300 points and is now only down 80, and the trend appears to be positive," said Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of BKPM Rosan Roeslani on Monday, 24 March 2025.
