Deputy Home Minister urges local governments to adopt creative financing
Deputy Home Minister (Wamendagri) Akhmad Wiyagus is encouraging regional governments to implement creative financing as a strategy to maintain development sustainability amidst budget efficiency policies. Akhmad stated that creative financing must be optimised so that local governments can deliver public welfare through innovative financial management involving active community participation. “Through this creative financing, we must be able to provide prosperity for the people by involving active community participation as part of the government’s main duties and functions,” he said after speaking at the Workshop on Regional Government Financial Governance through Creative Financing in response to the 2026 Efficiency Policy in Jambi on Friday. According to him, the budget efficiency policy should not become an obstacle for regional governments in executing priority programmes. Therefore, regional heads are required to possess adaptive leadership by aligning regional development programmes with central government policies. “Regional governments are also expected to develop innovative sources of financing,” he said. The workshop aimed to strengthen transparent and accountable regional budget (APBD) management based on the principle of value for money, namely being economical, efficient, and effective. Meanwhile, Jambi Mayor Maulana welcomed the interactive meeting between the Jambi City Government officials and the deputy ministers of the Red and White Cabinet. The event was attended by Deputy Mayor of Jambi Diza Hazra Aljosha, heads of regional agencies, and featured Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Taufik Hidayat as a speaker.
