Jakarta (ANTARA) - Deputy Minister of Health Dante Saksono Harbuwono has assured the readiness of health facilities throughout the country during the 2026 Eid holiday to provide a sense of security for the public in accessing essential health services.

“Even though the public is on holiday, hospitals do not close, except for outpatient clinics. Outpatient clinics will be closed, but there are Emergency Units where people can go if they have complaints or are ill,” said Deputy Minister Dante Saksono Harbuwono when contacted in Jakarta on Saturday.

According to him, in the next one or two days, there will be no elective or non-emergency surgeries in hospitals.

However, cito or emergency surgeries will still be available.

“Accident surgeries, such as inserting pins, can be performed immediately,” he said.

“Our doctors are on standby for hospitals and for emergency services,” he added.

The number of doctors on standby in the Emergency Department depends on the type of hospital.

“It depends on the type of hospital, the size of the hospital, and the size of the emergency unit facility, which determines the number of doctors. For example, at RSCM, there might be around 30-40 doctors on duty every day. For smaller regional hospitals, there might be one doctor, while larger ones have five doctors,” said Dante Saksono Harbuwono.

In addition to hospital readiness, the Ministry of Health is also setting up health posts along the migration routes.
