Deputy Head of National Nutrition Agency Suspends Two Nutrition Provision Units Owned by Person Claiming to be Minister's Grandchild
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Deputy Chief of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) Nanik Sudaryati Deyang has suspended two Nutrition Provision Units (SPPG) operated by a foundation whose owner claims to be a minister’s grandchild. The action concerns Yayasan Bhakti Bhojana Nusantara, located in Ponorogo, East Java.
The foundation has spent months pressuring two SPPG heads recruited as BGN representatives, as well as nutrition and finance overseers. The foundation has allegedly intimidated them.
“Stop this. If necessary, permanently, should they fail to demonstrate improved behaviour towards the SPPG heads, nutrition overseer, and finance overseer,” said Nanik on Monday (16 March 2026).
The foundation also allegedly manipulated food procurement. From the BGN-allocated budget of Rp10,000 per meal for food purchases, they spent only Rp6,500 per meal.
As a result, both SPPG heads frequently had to cover the shortfall from their personal funds to maintain adequate meal standards.
The conduct of the foundation owner managing the SPPG, according to Nanik, is inhumane and inappropriate. The two SPPG heads have been continuously pressured and threatened with police action or legal proceedings if they fail to comply with the foundation’s demands.
“In fact, volunteers and beneficiary schools were also asked to sign petitions demanding the removal of both SPPG heads,” she added.
The BGN also conducted a direct inspection. Nanik assigned the Director of Monitoring and Oversight for Region II, Brigadier General Albertus Dony Dewantoro, along with the Deputy Chief’s Senior Expert on Media Affairs, Hanibal Wijayanta, to conduct the inspection.
The investigation team found kitchen conditions failing to meet technical guidelines and SPPG standard operating procedures. Deficiencies included peeling kitchen floors, dirty, cracked and mouldy walls, inadequate and non-air-conditioned portioning areas, absent rest areas, and minimal, unseparated lockers.
Meanwhile, verification with the minister allegedly referenced was conducted. However, the claims made could not be substantiated.
