Jakarta - Indonesia’s Deputy Minister for Hajj, Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak, has reminded hajj officials to focus on their work rather than flexing or showcasing their activities on social media while in the Holy Land.

“I hope that fellow officials focus on their tasks to accompany and protect the pilgrims. So, there’s no need to flex or show off various activities,” Dahnil said when met at the Pondok Gede Hajj Hostel in East Jakarta on Friday (17/4/2026).

Instead, Dahnil encouraged the officials to use their social media accounts for far more beneficial purposes than flexing or showing off.

“If it’s for da’wah, I think we encourage them. But da’wah means informing, preaching, educating; we even recommend that all officials conduct education via social media,” he stated.

According to him, positive information can be conveyed by officials in the field to provide benefits to the public.

“Good news, then ensuring good information. Families in the homeland need reassuring information,” he added.

Meanwhile, 360 Hajj Service Officials (PPIH) for 1447 Hijriah or 2026 AD from the Airport and Madinah Desk will depart for King Abdul Aziz Airport in Jeddah today, Friday.

The Linjam team, consisting of personnel from the TNI and Police, will be at the forefront in ensuring the safety and comfort of pilgrims while in Saudi Arabia.

In addition to Linjam, the deployed officials also include support personnel such as journalists who will be placed at the airport.

“We are sending (a total of) more than 400 officials in stages, and they must fully serve the pilgrims,” Dahnil said.

The Deputy Hajj Minister reminded that PPIH are the spearhead of the success of this year’s hajj organisation.

“This is a sacred mission for all of you (hajj officials), for your families, for the nation, and certainly for the religion. This is a pride that we must fulfil,” he explained.
