Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah (Wamenhaj) Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak personally welcomed the return of Hajj pilgrims from Flight Group 14 of the Aceh Debarkation (BTJ) at the Aceh Hajj Dormitory in Banda Aceh on Tuesday (30/6). The arrival of this final flight group marked the conclusion of the entire operational series for the Aceh Debarkation’s Hajj pilgrimage for the 2026 season.

During the occasion, Dahnil stated that the Aceh Embarkation and Debarkation had completed its Hajj service duties, from the departure process to the repatriation of more than 5,000 pilgrims from Aceh. "By reciting Alhamdulillahirabbil’alamin, the Aceh Embarkation has fulfilled its responsibility to safeguard, dispatch, and receive over 5,000 Acehnese Hajj pilgrims," Dahnil said in his statement on Tuesday (30/6).

He expressed appreciation to all Hajj organising officers in Aceh, who were deemed to have successfully improved service quality for the pilgrims throughout the Hajj season. "In Aceh, it is good. Aceh is not only special, but its Hajj pilgrims are also special. Because this is the Veranda of Mecca. The service provided by colleagues at the dormitory and the Regional Office is also much better. Many fundamental changes have also been implemented in Aceh," he said.

According to Dahnil, the various improvements made serve as an important foundation for continuously enhancing the quality of Hajj pilgrimage organisation in the future, so that services to pilgrims can be increasingly optimised. In addition to conveying his appreciation, the Deputy Minister also expressed his condolences for the passing of 19 Acehnese Hajj pilgrims, both those who died in the Holy Land and after returning to Indonesia.

"And of course, we also mourn the Hajj pilgrims who passed away, both in the Holy Land and in the homeland, numbering around 19 people. May all of them, the deceased men and women, attain husnulkhatimah," he said. With the arrival of Flight Group 14 in Banda Aceh, the entire 2026 Hajj operational process for the Aceh Debarkation officially concluded. All pilgrims dispatched through the Aceh Embarkation have returned to the homeland according to the established repatriation schedule.
