Deputy Governor Taj Yasin Sends Off the First Hajj Flight Group for 2026
Deputy Governor of Central Java Taj Yasin Maimoen sent off the departure of prospective Hajj pilgrims from the first flight group (kloter) of Solo Embarkation to Saudi Arabia on Tuesday evening, 21 April 2026. The 358 prospective pilgrims from Tegal Regency were gathered at the Muzdalifah Building of the Donohudan Hajj Dormitory in Boyolali before being transported to Adi Soemarmo Airport in the early hours of Wednesday, 22 April 2026.
“Alhamdulillah, they are all healthy on average. Everyone is healthy and in a happy state,” said Taj Yasin after sending off the prospective pilgrims at the Donohudan Hajj Dormitory in Boyolali Regency on Tuesday evening, 21 April 2026.
He noted that the pilgrims in the first kloter have generally waited for years for their departure due to the Hajj waiting list system. According to him, the increase in quotas from the Saudi government helps accelerate the departure process for the pilgrims.
Taj Yasin asked Hajj officials to provide maximum service, especially for elderly pilgrims who need accompaniment. He emphasised the importance of the readiness of health officials accompanying the journey. “These health officials must also be taken care of,” he said.
In a separate opportunity, Deputy Head of the Supplies Section for Hajj Organising Officials (PPIH) and PIC for Public Relations at Solo Embarkation, David Jafar Saputra, explained that the first kloter consists of 4 kloter Hajj officials, 2 regional Hajj officials, 352 pilgrims from Tegal Regency, and 2 pilgrims from Surakarta City. The two pilgrims from Surakarta are reserves filling empty seats (open seats) due to pilgrims who cancelled their departure. “So we took them from the nearest area to the Embarkation,” he said.
David stated that all prospective pilgrims will depart via Adi Soemarmo Airport with a take-off schedule at 01:09 WIB on Wednesday early morning, 22 April 2026. Overall, Solo Embarkation will send off 28,772 pilgrims in 81 kloters with 321 Hajj officials.
On the other hand, 5,368 pilgrims from the Kedu Residency will be sent off via Yogyakarta Embarkation with 60 Hajj officials. The departure process is carried out in stages according to the schedule set by the government. “For information, this kloter entered the building at 19:00 WIB,” said David.
One of the prospective pilgrims from the first kloter, Nurdian, appreciated the service at the Donohudan Hajj Dormitory, though she noted the arrival schedule. She assessed that the arrival time close to dawn made it difficult for pilgrims to perform worship freely. “It should be a bit earlier, so we can pray,” she said.
Nurdian admitted to feeling a mix of nervousness and happiness ahead of the departure to the Holy Land. She ensured that her health condition and provisions have been well prepared, including regular exercise. “A bit nervous. But happy, alhamdulillah,” she said.
